A 10-year-old boy from the Tampa area walked 280 miles to Tallahassee to turn the spotlight on the plight of homeless kids.
Zach Bonner lives with his family in Valrico. He walked the final mile to the state Capitol Monday morning with his older sister and a group of volunteers. He started walking Nov. 3.
Zach has done charitable work almost all his life. He says he planned his walk after hearing that Congress had declared November as National Homeless Youth Awareness Month.
His project raised awareness of homeless youth and also raised about $25,000 in donations and supplies for them.

Luciano Pavarotti & O Sole Mio - Italian Love Songs
Monday, November 26, 2007
ROME — Luciano Pavarotti's widow has sued two friends of the late tenor for $44 million, claiming their comments about her marriage were defamatory, her lawyer said Monday.
The widow of opera giant Luciano Pavarotti is suing two of his friends over stories that their marriage had been failing.
Following Pavarotti's death in September, Italian media began carrying reports that the tenor had been unhappy in the marriage to Nicoletta Mantovani and she was fighting over his estate with his daughters from his first marriage. They attributed the information to "close friends" of the singer.
Pavarotti died aged 71 in Modena, northern Italy, in September.
The two people named in the legal case are Franca Corfini Strata, the wife of the late singer's dietician, and Lidia La Marca, who is married to conductor Leone Magiera.
Ms Mantovani intends to to donate any award to charity, Ms Benini said.
Neither woman was available for comment, and no date has been set for a hearing.
Pavarotti had one child, Alice, with Ms Mantovani, who was his second wife.
In his will, the performer left half of his estate to Ms Mantovani - formerly his personal assistant - and half to his four daughters.
Speaking to Italy's RAI state TV in October, Ms Mantovani said she wanted to leave her daughter with solid evidence she had defended herself and Pavarotti from press gossip.
She denied being left in debt or that she was squabbling with his three adult daughters over his will.
"I'm here and can defend myself. But Luciano can't, and Alice is a four-year-old child," she said.
Pavarotti was famed for helping to popularise opera, particularly through his signature tune, Nessun Dorma, which became associated with the 1990 World Cup.
His performances with Placido Domingo and Jose Carerras at this time - in the Three Tenors concerts - were seen around the world.
The singer died at his home in Modena, northern Italy, having being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006.

The Bangladesh army says it has reached most parts of the country's southern coast, six days after a cyclone struck.
But correspondents say much more needs to be done to bring food, clean drinking water, medicine and shelter to those who survived Cyclone Sidr.
There is anger among many villagers. Millions are still at risk from food shortages and water-related diseases.
The storm has affected about one million families and at least 3,100 people are confirmed dead so far.
The death toll is expected to rise.

Relief officials say a huge operation by civil authorities and the army, navy and air force is now in full swing.
A number of roads blocked by trees have been cleared and communication links have been restored. BBC reporters have seen helicopters criss-crossing the skies.
Army major Emdadul Islam told the AFP news agency: "We have reached everywhere with relief materials and we are also continuing rescue operations."
UN relief co-ordinator Renata Lok Dessallien led a team of donors to visit badly-hit areas on Wednesday.
"There are some inaccessible places, where people were yet to get relief. But officials working in the field have assured that they will reach those places soon," she told Reuters news agency.
The BBC's Alastair Lawson, who is in the storm-hit area, says many people are badly in need of food. Aid is getting through, he says, but not in large enough quantities.
Some people have barely eaten since the storm struck and our correspondent has witnessed villagers fighting over rice.
The other big concern is how to get clean water and prevent the spread of disease, he says.
The Associated Press news agency reported that more than 2,000 people turned up for food aid in one village, Purba Saralia, when there were supplies for only half that number.
"This is a crisis. I don't have enough food and we have no work," one farmer, Lal Mia, told the agency.
"We have nothing left," said another man in the village of Balkultola.
Cyclone Sidr, which struck late on Thursday, packed winds of up to 240km/h (150mph) and a tidal surge of several metres.
It brought down power lines and wiped out vital crops.
Bangladesh's Red Crescent society says up to 10,000 may have died.
On Tuesday Bangladesh called for more aid for tens of thousands of cyclone survivors. The government has urged aid agencies to co-ordinate with local authorities.
Coastal Bangladesh is a maze of waterways, creeks, islands and sandbanks and the only way to reach the area is by boat. The government's early-warning system is being credited with saving many lives.
Officials say that in many areas 95% of rice has been destroyed, while shrimp farms and other crops were simply washed away.
Southern Bangladesh is hit every year by cyclones and floods, but Cyclone Sidr is the most destructive storm to hit the country in more than a decade.
Another storm in 1991 left some 143,000 dead.

At least 150 people are now known to have died in eastern Papua New Guinea in floods triggered by heavy rain, reports from the Pacific nation say.
Hundreds of people have been displaced, officials say, and a state of emergency has been declared in the affected area.
Roads and communications in the region have been badly damaged, hindering the relief effort.
Aid is starting to arrive but health officials say they are concerned about a lack of food and spread of disease.
The flooding occurred after Tropical Cyclone Guba brought severe weather to the region.
Police spokesman David Terry described the situation in worst-hit Oro Province as "very sad" and said he expected the death toll to rise.
"We need a massive relief effort to stop people starving," he told Reuters news agency.
Helicopters began ferrying in aid from the capital, Port Moresby, on Wednesday.
People have been flocking to Oro's provincial capital, Popondetta, in search of food and water, local daily The National said, and officials fear others could be stranded in remote areas.
The Australian government has said it "stands ready to assist" Papua New Guinea if asked.

Cleanse your sins for a fee?
KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian man was charged in a Sessions Court here with cheating a company director of RM208,272.47 under the pretext of cleansing the sins of his family.
Agus Djunara, 56, from Sundar, is alleged to have duped Mohammad Arshad Othman, 67, into believing that he and his Indonesian wife Andi Putri Zahara could cleanse the sins of Arshad's family of four.
The unemployed man thereby allegedly induced Arshad to hand over the cash to him for the purpose at a house in Desa Pandan in Cheras between July 12 and Nov 7.
If convicted, he can be sentenced up to 10 years' jail, whipped and fined under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
Agus also faces a second charge of deceiving Arshad into believing that two bags and a box, which they (Agus and Andi) had given to him, contained a certain amount of cash in Malaysian ringgit and Singapore dollars to be invested in his trading company - Syarikat Mohammad Arshad Othman.
He was said to have committed the offence at the same place in September although he knew that the bags only contained two RM100 notes and two S$50 notes.
He is alleged to have cheated Arshad into believing that he would invest in the trading company.
If found guilty, he can be sentenced up to five years jail or fined or both under Section 417 of the Penal Code.
Arshad, of Kampung Pandan, had lodged a complaint over the alleged cheating on Nov 15.
On Wednesday, Agus claimed trial upon hearing his charges.
Prosecuting officer Chief Insp Zolkifli Mohd Yasin asked the court to deny bail saying that it was in view of the accused being a foreigner and involved in a case of public interest.
C/Insp Zolkifli said the case involved huge losses and that the prosecution was concerned that the accused may abscond if bail was given to him.
However, C/Insp Zolkifli said the prosecution would offer him RM100,000 bail in two Malaysian sureties if the court intended to grant him bail.
When Judge Rozana Ali Yusoff queried Agus about his status, the accused said he came to the country a year ago with a valid passport.
"I came to the country on a tourist permit and would go back to Indonesia each month to renew my visa," he said.
Agus, who was neatly attired in a black jacket, a green shirt and dark pants, told the judge he did not have a bailor and was prepared to be remanded pending trial.
Rozana granted his bail at RM10,000 in two Malaysian sureties for each charge.
The judge impounded his passport and ordered him to report to the nearest police station once a month until the disposal of the case and set Dec 18 for mention.
Agus failed to post bail.

An Indian businessman aged 24 born with two penises wants one of them removed surgically as he wants to marry and lead a normal sexual life, a newspaper report said on Saturday.
However, even if most men would like to be "blessed" with this biological abnormal feature for a while, the Indian wants to have one of the two penises surgically removed. He stated that after the surgery he will finally have the chance to get married and
have a normal sex life, like all his male fellows
The Indian man is named Sanjay and declared that he had to live with the shameful condition since birth. He had to conceal it from the others, but stressful times are over for him, as he is going to undergo surgery and keep only one of the two sex organs.
The rare condition Sanjay suffers from is medically known as penile duplication or diphallus. It is an extremely rare condition because only 100 cases of this disorder have been reported since 1609. Therefore, the diphallus condition occurs in one in 5, 5 million men.
Diphallus condition can be defined as a congenital anomaly in which one's penis is partially or completely doubled. It is caused by fetal mesodermal bands in the embryo which fail to fuse properly. Diphallus disorder is usually accompanied by other congenital abnormalities, such as anorectal, renal, vertebral duplication.
"It is an extremely rare condition. More so because two fully functional penes is unheard of in even medical literature. In the more common form of diphallus, one organ is rudimentary," explained a doctor from the hospital where the surgical intervention for removing on of the Indian's penises took place.

A man has undergone groundbreaking microsurgery after cutting off his penis in a crowded London restaurant.
The 35-year-old Polish national burst into the 200-seat Zizzi eaterie on The Strand and grabbed a large knife from the kitchen before jumping onto a table and dropping his trousers.
As panicking diners fled, the man sliced his penis off.
"This guy came running in then charged into the kitchen, got a massive knife and started waving it about," sales rep Stuart McMahon told The Sun newspaper.
"Everyone was screaming and running out as he jumped on a table, dropped his trousers and popped his penis out. Then he cut it off. I couldn't believe it.
"The staff were really upset and there was blood everywhere."
The man was subdued by police wielding tear gas, who packed the severed organ in ice then took it and the man to St Thomas's Hospital in south London.
A spokeswoman for the Royal College of Surgeons confirmed this was the first attempt in British history to reattach a severed penis, but there is no indication at this stage that it was a success.
Zizzi was set to re-open for business last night.
Sydney - An Australian man appeared in court on Wednesday accused of stabbing his ex-wife's lover to death, severing his penis and leaving it in her bedside drawer.
Garbor Ziha, 56, allegedly attacked Barry Corbett, 58, after letting himself into the man's apartment and finding him in bed with his former wife Marija Ziha, 54.
New South Wales police told a Sydney court the woman ran screaming from the apartment in her pyjamas with several wounds to her legs.
Responding to an emergency call, police found Corbett dead in the bedroom with multiple stab wounds.
Penis placed in bedside drawer
His penis had been cut off and placed in a bedside drawer with Marija's belongings, police said in a statement.
According to the statement, detectives telephoned Ziha at his home and he told them: "Yes I know, you can come and pick me up now."
He was charged with murdering Corbett and maliciously wounding his former wife.
JAKARTA, 19 November 2007 - Officials in the province of Bengkulu in western Sumatra said on Monday that they were taking precautionary measures after a psychic from Brazil warned that a powerful earthquake was to strike the area next month. Husni Hassanuddin, a spokesman for the province, said that the Indonesian embassy in Brazil had sent a letter from a 'professor' predicting that an earthquake would strike the island on December 23.
"During a recent meeting with all senior officials in Bengkulu, we determined a number of evacuation shelters for residents, especially those who live in the coastal areas," he told. He said there would be several evacuation drills in anticipation of December 23. "Though we call it a rumor, we take this information seriously. We don't want people to blame us if it really happens," he said.
Another official from Bengkulu, Fauzan Rahim, told to Antara that he had seen a copy of the letter from Jucelino Nobrega da Luz, in which he predicted a 8.5 magnitude earthquake on Sumatra, without giving an exact location. There are ten provinces on the island. Antara states that da Luz had also sent a letter in 1998 in which he warned for the 2004 tsunami as well as a warning that he issued for last Septembers 8.4 magnitude earthquake in Bengkulu.
A seismologist from the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency told that no technology in the world could predict an earthquake. "We have told people repeatedly that we cannot predict a quake. If there's information about the date on which a quake will occur, it is surely untrue," he said.

Spears allegedly lost her virginity at 14 to boyfriend Reg Jones, and that she and Justin Timberlake were intimate from the beginning.
The singer's former lawyer, Eric Ervin, made the allegations in an interview with magazine US Weekly reports Metro.
When Britney first appeared on the music scene she claimed she was a virgin and would remain so until she was married.
However, Ervin claims Britney first had sex with her childhood friend Reg Jones, who she dated for three years.
Ervin also alleges her relationship with Justin Timberlake was intimate from the moment they dated.
Another tragic history kept secret relates to her grandmother.
Spears' paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, in June 1966 committed suicide at age 31. Britney's grandmother, who suffered from depression, shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son who had died eight years earlier just three days after being born.
Emma Jean Spears left behind four other children, including Britney's father, Jamie Spears, then an eighth grader. Two of Jamie Spears' brothers ended up with criminal records and homeless.
Meanwhile, Britney is increasing her security in a bid to win back her two children.
The 'Gimme More' singer - who lost custody of Sean Preston, two, and 14-month-old Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline last month - believes she needs to protect her boys more from the constant paparazzi attention she receives.
Her lawyer said: "Recent aggressive actions by individuals who have followed (Spears) and blocked her access, with and without the children, have resulted in her decision to take certain security measures which she hopes will only be necessary temporarily, for the protection of the children."
Meanwhile Britney's 2005 'Do Something' music video was banned from airing on European TV stations after Louis Vuitton claimed it "damaged their image".
This is all hard to believe. Britney Spears always has and always will compose herself as a lady. She’s a sophisticated connoisseur, devout animal lover, and philanthropist. In fact, many believe she's still a virgin. I don’t even know where those kids came from. I’ll just assume that dastardly ruffian Kevin Federline purloined them from some unsuspecting couple. Fortunately Britney has delicately taken them under her wing and opened her home just like her role model Jesus of Nazareth would’ve done. Now those children can rest their heads peacefully knowing that they’re safe, loved, and free from danger.

The reaction is real - Reports of resulting deaths are unsubstantiated and probably untrue.
Grenade Trigger method
Make a Coke burst out at home.
In April last year a child, aged 10, a pupil of primary school Dante Alighieri from Sao Paulo, Brazil, died without any prior medical problems. He collapsed during a class.
He was offered first aid, but he died in a few minutes during the transport to hospital.
Bloated stomach, death due to suffocation.
The deduction established that his condition was caused by consumation of substances, that caused an explosion in his stomach.
A bottle of Coca Cola Light and subsequently a well known Mentos menthol sweet.
"The cause of the child's death was the mixture of the substances in the two foods."
Alexander B. Mergenthaler from the chemical institute I'Institute USP (France) verified and practically proved that the substance from Coca Cola "Light, Acesulfame K INS930, mixed together with the Menthos sweets, releases a deadly chemical reaction known as Ta9V4. In a very shorttime this combination produces and relaeses huge quantities of gas under high pressure-an explosion!
Even After this event and reports in various means of media provoked apalled public reaction, Coca-Cola and Menthos have issued no public statements.
Soft drinks contain carbon dioxide gas (making it bubbly). Until a bottle is cracked open, the gas cannot form any bubbles, and remains suspended in the liquid. When a soft drink bottle is shaken and opened, the carbon dioxide gas is released from the water, escaping violently from the bottle (along with the liquid). If you drop anything into some soft drink, just watch how quickly bubbles form on the surface. If you put salt in there, it foams up like anything, as lots and lots of bubbles form on each salt crystal. There are many water molecules inside this container. They all attract strongly to each other, and join to form a net around each individual carbon dioxide molecule – holding it down. To form a bubble, or even expand an already existing bubble in the liquid, the water molecules will need to push away from each other. When the Mentos is dropped into the soft drink, the gelatin and gum arabic in the dissolving candy easily breaks the surface tension. As a result, the net of water molecules is disturbed. Mentos candy has thousands of microscopic pits all over its surface. These pits are called nucleation sites, and are a great place to form the carbon dioxide bubbles. When Mentos is dropped into the soft drink, thousands of carbon dioxide bubbles are formed on the surfaces. Add to this the heaviness of the candies (they all sink to the bottom) and you have bubble overload! As soon as the gas is released, it pushes all the liquid out of the bottle in one go. There is a specific need to use the ‘mint’ variety of Mentos. The ‘non-mint’ variety does not work as well. Jamie Hyneman – from ‘Mythbusters’ (a science television show that investigated the phenomenon) – explains: “The ‘non-mint’ variety has a glaze on them, and they don’t work at all. It only works with the mint ones, because they have a matte finish. That surface serves as a little portal for the gas to escape through.” Also, there is a specific need to use ‘diet’ soft drinks for this experiment. Regular soft drinks contain sugar, and those molecules are very large. Due to the stickiness of the sugar, they hold onto the carbon dioxide molecules better – even when the Mentos is added. All you get is a disappointing fizzle dizzle. The other point in favour for ‘diet’ drinks: It leaves a less sticky mess (due to the artificial sweetener). Plain table salt on the diet soft drink has similar effect as Mentos on Diet Coke if not better. The largest reported ‘Mentos Fountain’ is almost 5.5 metres. VIA
