Recession fears as markets crash 22/01/2008
Asian and European share indices have continued to fall amid fears of a recession in the US.
London's FTSE dropped 3 per cent when it opened, leading to fears of a global recession. It has since recovered. However, Asian markets had dropped earlier and the Nikkei continued to decline. It is down by 18 per cent so far this year.
Analysts believe things will continue to fall and much will depend on how the US performs when it opens later today.
