The Charmin Restrooms have returned to Times Square for the third consecutive year, and expanded its space to two floors so tourists and New Yorkers alike can further enjoy the ultimate bathroom experience. The free plush potties feature flat-screen televisions, attendants dressed in tuxedos and plenty of Charmin. The loos are so luxurious that Charmin promises Times Square tourists will feel like kings sitting on their thrones before making their royal flushes.
The Restrooms are located at 1540 Broadway in Times Square between West 45th and West 46 streets and open to the public Sunday - Wednesday from 10:00AM to 9PM, and Thursday - Saturday 10AM to 11PM. They are also open all day on Thanksgiving and until 6PM on Christmas Eve, but closed Christmas Day. For the first time since its conception, the Restrooms will also be open on New Year's Eve from 12AM to 2AM, offering the crowd of millions in Times Square a safe and accessible bathroom haven after the 2009 ball drops.
This year the Charmin Restrooms will cover 2 floors: the first for "relief" and the second to "recharge." On the main level, consumers will experience a new, winter wonderland forest theme, 20 luxury bathroom stalls serviced by attendants after every use, family photo area featuring life-like Santa sleigh, life-size Charmin bear and holiday-themed backdrop, fireplace and a tree house featuring a Charmin Ultra Strong swing and Charmin Ultra Soft slide. Duracell's Power Lodge will lure guests to the second floor where they can plug-in, power up and top off their personal entertainment and digital devices -- including cell phones, BlackBerrys, iPods, MP3 players, digital cameras and gaming devices. Families will also get to recharge with interactive entertainment provided by multiple Nintendo Wii stations and this season's hottest toys from Mattel.
Approximately 1 million consumers worldwide have experienced the 20 deluxe, ADA compliant, family-friendly public restrooms that are free and fully staffed with attendants to clean each stall after every use. Additional luxuries include baby changing stations, stroller parking, seating areas, flat screen televisions, Charmin retail boutique, and new family photo area equipped with printing station.
Charmin has been America's most popular bath tissue for more than 25 years. In the U.S., P&G offers Charmin Ultra Soft and Charmin Ultra Strong -- super premium two-ply tissues; Charmin Basic -- a one-ply tissue; Charmin Plus with lotion with aloe; and Charmin Freshmates -- adult flushable moist wipes. P&G also sells Charmin in Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico. For more information on Charmin, visit http://www.charmin.com/.
