Missing dog returns to family after 9 years because of microchip

A German shepherd named Astro, an 80-pound black and off-white German shepherd, went missing about 9 years ago from the Geary family's Port St. Lucie,Florida. home shortly after the family adopted him. On Jan. 29, 2009, an animal control officer in Tennessee picked up Astro running loose and returns its owner after tracking down the family in Louisville,Kentucky, through a microchip implanted in the canine when he was adopted. When they were reunited, the dog sat down and began licking Dennis Geary.
