Nov 1, 2008-Incest dad Fritzl, 74,has admitted locking his own mother in a bricked-up room for years until her actual death in 1980. According to a new report, Fritzl said he did so to punish her for grossly mistreating him as a child. Austrian media reported that she could have been held for up to 20 years. He inherited the home in Amstetten, Austria in 1959 from his mother when she was supposed to be dead. Dr. Adelheid Kastner , an Austrian prison psychiatrist who is assessing the 73-year-old's mental state, says Fritzl is not insane and recommends that he is never freed. VIA
Thursday, 1 May 2008-Alfred Dubanovsky, a plumber and a lodger at the Austrian house where a father allegedly imprisoned and abused his daughter says he saw another man go to the cellar where the abuse happened. His claim contradicts those of investigators who say the father, Josef Fritzl, had no accomplice. Mr Dubanovsky, rented a room in the Fritzl house for 12 years. Nobody is allowed to go down to the cellar. From the ground floor when noises were heard coming from the cellar, Mr Fritzl said it was the gas heating system. Mr Dubanovsky assumed the basement was being used as a storeroom because a neighbour said Mr Fritzl often took food down to the cellar. However, officials believe that no-one was aware of the existence of the purpose-built dungeon, citing DNA tests. Meanwhile, a sister-in-law, Christine R, told the Oesterreich newspaper that Mr Fritzl used to go into the cellar every morning at 0900 "apparently to draw plans for machines, which he sold to firms" .
"Often he even stayed down there for the night," she added. "Rosi [his wife] wasn't allowed to bring him a coffee". She said Mr Fritzl "was a despot, I hated him". She said he "always belittled" his wife Rosemarie, who has told police she knew nothing about the captives in the windowless cellar. VIA

Video-Austrian police have held a news conference about 73-year-old Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter captive in a soundproof cellar for 24 years.
Doctors treating a family who were held captive in a soundproof cellar in Austria are doing "relatively well" since their release. Dr Berthold Kepplinger said he thought getting used to daylight and space would take them a few weeks.
Video-A vigil has been held in the Austrian town where Josef Fritzl kept his daughter in a cellar for 24 years.
Josef Fritzl, a 73-year-old man is accused of imprisoning his daughter for 24 years and fathering seven children in Amstetten, some 120 kilometers west of Vienna.
Elisabeth Fritzl, 42, and her children were kept in rooms in the cellar where the ceiling was just 1.70 metres (5.5 feet) high. Her father drugged her in August 1984 and kept her in the cellar of the family home, regularly abusing her over two decades. The incestuous relationship allegedly produced seven children. The case came to light when one of the children, now 19, was admitted to hospital in critical condition. The Kronen-Zeitung tabloid portrayed Fritzl as a keen fisherman, popular among neighbours and locals, but a "monster, a brutal tyrant" in the cellar of his own home. Two of the boys and one girl went to school as normal, seemingly unaware that their mother and three other siblings (a girl of 19, and boys at 18 and five) were trapped underground. Elisabeth Fritzl told investigators her mother knew nothing about the sexual abuse she had endured since the age of 11, some seven years before she was locked away. According to ORF national television, the mother and five children are now in hospital. All are being treated by a team of psychologists. Reports said the mother was physically frail and badly disturbed by her ordeal.

Geisha Guys And The Latest Japanese Love Trends |
"I give women things that men normally don't do, like complimenting their appearance," says one host, 24-year-old Yunosuke(Photo), who only goes by his single host name. "I make women happy." "Women see us as one of their accessories," he says. "They like to wear nice things, so I try to look prettier for them all the time." Women love being treated well without the pressures that come with dating.
In Japan professional women are forking out $1,000 to $50,000 a night for male companionship. It's a dizzying reversal of traditional gender roles in a country long known for geishas pampering male clients with conversation, singing and dancing. Male geishas has cropped out to be the new generation of entertainment. The women pay for a man to lavish them with undivided attention. The industry says only compliments are exchanged.
A host club is similar to a hostess club, except that female customers pay for male company. Some host clubs also specialize in female-to-male transsexual hosts. Host clubs are typically found in more populated areas of Japan, and are famed for being numerous in Tokyo districts such as Kabukichō, and Osaka's Umeda and Namba. Customers are typically wives of rich men or women working as hostesses in hostess clubs.
Air Group, a company that owns a chain of "host" clubs says taht japanese women are now working hard and making more money and see see this as a way to de-stress.
The first host club was opened in Tokyo in 1966. In 1996, the number of Tokyo host clubs was estimated to be 200, and a night of non-sexual entertainment could cost $500 to $600. Male hosts pour drinks and will often flirt with their clients, more so than their female counterparts. The conversations are generally light-hearted; hosts may have a variety of entertainment skills, be it simple magic tricks or loads of charisma with which to tell a story. Some host clubs have a dedicated stage for a performance, usually a dance, comedy sketch etc.
Many of the clientele who visit host bars are female hostesses, who finish work at around 1:00 or 2:00 a.m., causing host bars to often begin business at around midnight and finish in the morning or midday, and hosts to work to the point of exhaustion. Drinks usually start at about 1000 yen but can reach around 3 million yen ($US 25,000) for a bottle of champagne.
Usually, hosts try to make the clients feel loved without having sex with them, as it takes up their time and energy.Sometimes, for instance if a female pays a large amount of money and/or if the host likes them in return, the host can have sex with the client. If the same host meets the same client, she has a higher chance of having sex than the host having sex with another client.

Tzu Chi Still Thought Philosophy |
The Tzu Chi Foundation (traditional Chinese: 慈濟基金會; simplified Chinese: 慈济基金会; pinyin: Cí Jì; Wade-Giles: Tz'u Chi) is one of the three largest Buddhist organizations in Taiwan (the others being Fo Guang Shan and Dharma Drum Mountain).
Whereas many Buddhist societies focus on personal enlightenment and meditation, Tzu Chi focuses on community service and outreach (especially medical, educational, and disaster relief).Tzu Chi Still Thought

Are there any disadvantages of using biodiesel? |
Vegetable oil, made of e.g. rapeseed or sunflower oil, is an alternative for diesel. Gasoline can be substituted by bio-ethanol, produced from sugar cane or wheat. Both diesel and gasoline can be mixed with vegetable oil or bio-ethanol. For example, all Shell gasoline contains two percent bio-ethanol, while Argos' five percent is even higher. The European Union has mandated that by 2010 5.75% of all transport fuels should be biofuels. Most cars can handle a share of 7 -10% biofuels without any further investment. Some countries, such as Belgium, are ahead of the EU legislation and have mandated a 2.5 percent biodiesel share.
The use of biofuels was particularly popular in Brazil in the mid 1980s. Because of declining oil prices and rising prices of sugar cane, the market for biofuels disappeared quickly in the late 1980s. In recent years the consumption of biofuels has increased quickly. Over 50% of cars sold in Brazil could take bio-ethanol as well as gasoline. In accordance to New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, shot up 2.95 dollars to close at a record 102.59 dollars per barrel, just two days after the prior record of 100.88 dollars. Alternative fuels will be more feasible.
Disadvantages of biofuels
Biofuels are heavily debated on three main issues with current biofuel production: limited CO2 reductions, land and water use and destruction of wild habitats.
Some estimate that for each tonne of CO2 released during combustion[is turned into a fuel, and combusted (releasing the same amount of CO2)], about 0.75 tonnes of CO2 were used in the production process [in which organic matter grows (absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere)]. This largely undermines the often-mentioned carbon advantages of biofuels making it seems that the only remaining advantage is the reduced energy dependence on foreign oil imports plus they do not contain sulfur and other pollutants.
The first generation biofuels, e.g. growing crops to turn into fuel or electricity, need a lot of land to produce a liter of fuel or a megawatt of electricity. In densely populated countries such as the Netherlands, there is by far not enough space to grow biofuels for the whole economy, even if the entire land surface would be used. This also means that biofuels have to compete with alternative land uses such as food production.
Currently, water constraints in agriculture are getting more and more severe. The introduction of large-scale biofuels would require an immense amount of water. Some experts say that water availability may severely limit further agricultural and economic activity in the future, including the use of biofuels.
As explained above, growing biomass increases the demand for agricultural land. A very alarming phenomenon is that many tropical countries, such as Indonesia, have shown sharply increased deforestation rates as palm oil plantings are being created. This eliminates much of the CO2 advantages, because of the CO2 that is released when forested areas are burnt or cut down. Even worse, pristine rain forests and their ecological functions are being destroyed. Recently, this phenomenon has attracted more policy attention. This is important, because many uninformed consumers would probably not have the feel-good experience when purchasing biodiesel if they really knew the entire production chain...
All these reason indicate why the current "first generation" biofuels does not seem feasible on a large scale. A promising development is the research on a "second generation" biofuels. This technology extracts energy from cellulose, which would make it possible to get much more energy from a single plant and hence reduces the need for additional farmland. This would decrease the environmental impact of biomass production. This technique is still fledgling.
In addition transportation & storage of biodiesel require special management. Some properties of biodiesel make it undesirable for use at high concentrations. For example, pure biodiesel doesn't flow well at low temperatures, which can cause problems for customers with outdoor storage tanks in colder climates. A related disadvantage is that biodiesel, because of its nature, can’t be transported in pipelines. It has to be transported by truck or rail, which increases the cost.
Biodiesel is less suitable for use in low temperatures, than petrodiesel.
Biofuels are more viscous than e.g. diesel, which requires a system that heats the fuel before the ignition starts. In Germany, the cost of this transformation is about € 800. However, the same mechanism for a gasoline car is much more expensive.

Australian father has child with his daughter |
Jenny Deaves, who had a child with her father John, pleaded for acceptance of her illicit love as the couple and their baby girl appeared on national television.
Australian Jenny Deaves was 31 had an illicit child with her father convicted of incest. Their love affair started when she was reunited with her father John Deaves, who separated from her mother three decades before. Nine-month-old daughter, Celeste, to whom John Deaves is both father and grandfather is a third child, but also a half-sister, for Jenny Deaves, now 39, who has two other children from another relationship. Jenny said the physical relationship with her father was like "a sexual relationship with any other man".For her father,John the sexual relationship was "absolutely fantastic".
Dorothy, 69, ex-wife of Mr Deaves, stepmother of Jenny said Jenny stayed with them four times before their marriage broke down in 2000. This is after the father and daughter took a trip to Dubbo together. Dorothy married John Deaves in 1984 and Jenny was then 15-year-old.
South Australian Courts Administration Authority convicted the South Australian couple of two counts of incest each and placed both on three-year good behavior bonds which disallow any further sexual activity between the pair on March 20. The court stress that “Relevant factors include: the need to prevent the high risk of congenital defects of children born of incestuous relationships; and to prevent children, who are brought up in a family unit founded on an incestuous relationship, suffering psychological harm and social stigmatization,”
The couple who bear a striking resemblance to each other had another child in 2001 but the infant died after only a few days due to a congenital heart disease.

Boeing flies first hydrogen-powered plane |
A small propeller aircraft powered by a hydrogen fuel cell was flown earlier this year by US aircraft maker Boeing.
The plane flew at a speed of 100 kilometres (62 miles) an hour for about 20 minutes at an altitude of about 1,000 metres (3,300 feet) using only the hydrogen battery for power, Boeing said in a statement.
Hydrogen power uses of chemical "fuel cells" that can tap the energy produced from the chemical transformation of hydrogen and oxygen into water.
It holds the promise of a cleaner and renewable energy resource as it produces only harmless water vapor.
Hydrogen cell batteries are beginning to be used in some cars but are still very expensive.Several auto makers, including General Motors, Nissan and BMW, are working on the development of hydrogen-powered cars.
Also in the wake of environmental challenge, an Airbus test plane made the first biofuel flight in February, powered by organic plant matter, and this was followed by a Virgin Atlantic-Boeing experiment using babassu oil and coconut oil.
Although hydrogen fuel cells could be used to power small planes Boeing did not believe they could become the primary power source for large passenger planes. Virgin Atlantic flew a Boeing 747 from London to Amsterdam in February with one engine powered by biofuel.
Growing algae commercially with sewage works is expected to be the next biofuel tested by Virgin Atlantic.
Boeing has also comes out with a new model place, the Dreamliner which uses high-tech composites to reduce its weight and will consume 20 percent less fuel then similar-sized existing planes.
US-based carrier, Continental Airlines looks forward to become the first biofuel plane operator next year.
